Cotswold Transport Planning were instructed to prepare a Transport Statement in support of a planning application for the alteration and extension to the existing SNG Barratt Group buildings at the company’s UK headquarters in Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

Issues & Solutions

SNG Barratt is a family run business which has expanded to become the world’s leading supplier of specialist automotive parts for classic and modern Jaguar cars. Planning permission was sought for the redevelopment of The Heritage Building to create a more efficient business operation with improved manufacturing techniques.

As part of the development proposal, the two car parks that serve the site were to be altered and modified to create a separate goods yard area, separated from the general car movements associated with staff and visitors.

To understand parking demand at the site, a parking accumulation survey was undertaken which informed the parking proposals. A swept path analysis was also undertaken of the goods yard to ensure that the largest vehicle associated with deliveries for the site could enter, unload and exit safely.

Planning permission was granted by Shropshire Council.
